Vale: Bob Enright

The Henley Football Club wish to recognise the fine contribution Bob Enright has made to the Sharks over many years.

Bob first came to the Club, after a distinguished career as a player and Captain of the West Torrens Football Club, in 2003. Jo and Bob enrolled Jack in the HFC Junior program as a 6 year old and both followed his progression through the Grades that culminated in him captaining an Under 16 Premiership Team in 2011. Bob was so proud of this achievement.

Bob volunteered to coach the Junior Teams that Jack played in for many years. Including U/8s to U/12s. He had a huge impact on the development of the boys and formed strong relationships with the Parents, many of who became close friends. These people, with Bob and Jo, became great supporters of the club and were always seen there both Friday and Sunday Nights after Presentations.

In the years to follow they established a small group of supporters who regularly ‘set up’ nibbles and drinks on the Cudmore Tce boundary – supporting their sons.

After Jack’s career at the Eagles finished he rejoined the Sharks and it was fantastic to have the ‘Enrights’ back at Henley. Their support at Games and Social functions was fantastic. Bob was often in deep discussion post-match, with beer in hand, with his mates. He also assisted with the Extension of the Club in 2016-17. His expertise in the electrical field was much appreciated.

Bob was a well respected and loved Shark – who will be sadly missed!

Sincere Condolences to Jo, Ellie-May, Jack and Mel.
