On behalf of the Henley Football Club committee I would like to share some great news on major redevelopments taking place at the club over the coming weeks and months.
Firstly we have been successful in gaining an additional $450K grant to add to our existing $400k grant to renew all lighting at Henley Oval. This will allow night football and cricket to be played at Henley with the best quality lighting available.
The additional funds granted will be used to relocate our current light towers to Henley High School with new LED lighting. This will allow our teams access to a much needed second training facility and will take the pressure off of our main oval training space.
A massive thanks to Paul Caica who has worked tirelessly and delivered this outstanding result for the Henley Football Club.
Secondly commencing very shortly will be a major internal renovation of our current bathrooms in the club The Charles Sturt Council have approved a 120k renovation on the inside bathrooms with work commencing within two weeks – Thanks to the council for this much needed improvement.
Last but not least our new Female changerooms are a step closer with the Council assessment panel voting yes to the placement of these facilities on the south western side of the club.
The decision will be hopefully ratified by an appeals court Monday week allowing work to commence at the end of the month.
Rod Hill and Paul Caica have persevered for 24 months to get these changerooms up and running and once again a big thankyou to these guys for their time and hard work.
Whilst we are not playing at the moment I though it was important to share some great things happening off the field which will enable our players, members and supporters to have some of the best facilities on the Western Side of town.
Thanks Wayne Pierson
