Some of you may have read Kevin Sheedy’s book “Stand Your Ground”.
As a football lover, I found an excerpt in one of the chapters referring to the coaching views of the legendary Jock McHale written on 2nd May 1925 that made a huge impact on what I believe we as Henley people should aspire to.

Anzac Day 2010
On the 25th of April 1915 the ANZACS landed at Gallipoli Beach with the Turks in front of them and the sea behind.
The Aussie troops dug in & defended their trenches ruthlessly, giving rise to the term “Digger”.
In modern terms, the word Digger defines a bloke who never quits under hardship.
Endurance & courage during desperate times has always been the hallmark of our soldiers.
Round 1 2008
Game 1 of Season 2008; finally. After what has seemed an eternity, the first games for points were played by all senior teams this weekend.
Never, in my history at the club, has the off season recruiting & building improvement areas been so busy! The time sacrifices by many have been enormous & it makes me very proud to be part of such a hard working outfit as
