A Grade vs. Modbury - 2009 Report
It was
obviously a disappointing result last week against Modbury. With an even
first half I thought things were looking positive when we kicked the
first two goals of the 2nd half to lead by three, but from
there things went downhill. For the second time in as many weeks, I felt
that the opposition just put everything on the line and simply just
wanted to win more than us.
As
I have said before this competition is so even that if you are 5% down
on your preparation and 5% down during the game, you can be beaten by
anyone and that’s what happened on Saturday.
In
assessing our recent form, I feel that some individuals are in cruise
control mode, happy with where we were at a couple of weeks ago and
being lazy in terms to training and mental preparation for the games on
Saturday.
I
also believe that we have got ahead of ourselves as a team, thinking we
can just roll up on Saturdays and things will just work out. We have
addressed these issues during the week and had a competitive training
session on Tuesday and I am confident you will see a more committed and
passionate group of sharks on Saturday.
I
have no doubt in my mind that we will get back to playing the type of
footy we were playing earlier in the year it just has to happen sooner
rather than later!
